The unit operates in the sector of environmental monitoring (water, soil, subsoil, waste), through a staff of specialist technicians who over the years have built up a vast experience, developed also directly in the field.
The unit has experience in dealing with all types of chemical and physical phenomenon which cause the formation and diffusion of contaminations, from the analysis of the environment incidents, through to recovery and planning.
The unit conducts sampling and monitoring, both of water and soil, as well as sub-soils. The sampling is undertaken in accordance with the established protocols using the most appropriate and certified equipment.
For the sampling of marine sediments, the unit uses the most recent generation of vibration-augers.

The sampling and analysis of waste products is undertaken using a sub-quartation methodology, which subsequently sub-divides the waste into several different product classes. Furthermore, the preparation of the samples for analysis in the laboratory is undertaken using a grinder specifically designed for this process.
