The enormous diffusion and growth of information technology in recent years has led Nautilus to significantly invest in its information systems, which today provide vital support to the many activities of the company.
Furthermore, in order to provide the best possible service to its clients, Nautilus has now for sometime provided its products in GIS format, an accurate, quick and easy system to consult data.
The software is aimed at managing spatial geographical and territorial information.
Recently, GIS platforms have been created for a number of important national and international projects:
- The planning and creation of a web-orientated GIS, as part of the fulfilment of an agreement to provide services for the sampling and analysis of sediments, in order to better understand the lagoons of Marano Lagunare and Grado.

- Territorial agreement for agriculture, farm accommodation and fishing within the territory of the Council of Palermo - environmental identification and protection of the protected maritime area of Capo Gallo - Isola delle Femmine (2004). Creation of a GIS to manage the output from the project: geophysical surveys (multi-beam, Side Scan Sonar), biocoenosis habitats (following on from completed studies), laboratory analysis of marine samples, underwater photographs, videos recorded by a ROV.

- The creation of an inventory and the production of cartography mapping the Poseidon sea grass in the maritime areas of Manfredonia, Molfetta, Bari, Brindisi, Gallipoli and Taranto (2004). Central to this was the implementation of a GIS, which as well as producing output from the project, was also used to house and management the diverse data: geophysical surveys (single-beam, side scan sonar), biocoenosis habitats, laboratory analyses of the Poseidon sea grass, underwater photographs, ROV captured videos.

- The creation of a database and cartography mapping the underwater obstacles for fishing in the areas of Manfredonia, Molfetta, Bari, Brindisi, Gallipoli and Taranto (2005). The creation of a GIS in order to manage the output from the project: geophysical surveys (single-beam, side scan sonar), underwater photographs, ROV captured videos.

- Contour mapping around the Tremiti islands (2006). Creation of a GIS in order to manage the products of the project: geophysical (multi-beam, single-beam, Side Scan Sonar) and topographical surveys, biocoenosis, benthos, sediment transects.

- Environmental impact assessment associated to the study of incidents related to the enactment of law DPR 09/05/2001 no. 331-Law 183/89 - Hydro-geological defence of the coastline within the areas of Joppolo, Ricadi and Parghelia (2006). The project involved the creation of a GIS, which as well as managing the output from the project, was also used to house the diverse data: coastal protection projects (tombolos, break-waters, coastal reformations, breakers); geophysical surveys (single-beam, Side Scan Sonar); photographs; underwater films; benthos samples; topographic surveys.
